Let me tell you about Diode from what I learn…

The formations of diode also call FORMATION OF PN JUNCTION.

Diode created when two type of semiconductor connected. The two type of semiconductor are P-type semiconductor (have intrinsic semiconductor + 3 electrons valance) and N-type semiconductor (have intrinsic semiconductor + 5 electrons valence).

Therefore you must know the majority and minority carrier…which I forget to answer…sad..

For P type, the majority carriers are holes and the minorities are electrons, vice versa with the N type.

When it was connected, a depletion region is created. In this region it becomes no free charge as it was before. Then it created the barrier potential…
